      Who would love to smash a pie in Mr. Adam’s face?????

      From November 18th to December 16th, SkillsUSA will be holding a fundraiser where the winning lab will be able to smash a pies in Mr. Adam’s face.  

      Every lab will be given a large can where the donations will be placed.   Student are asked to donate money to SkillsUSA.  The money will be counted on December 16th and  on December 18th the winning lab, including the instructor,  will be equipped with cream pies to be smashed in to Mr. Adam’s face.

      All students who enter through the Main Lobby will now enter through the Large Cafeteria. Student dismissals through the front of the Main Lobby will be the same.

      SkillsUSA Program Cover Competition

      SkillsUSA District 11 Championships Program Cover Contest 

      Students are asked to participate in a contest to design the cover for the SkillsUSA Championships Showcase of Skills Program Guide to be distributed at Ag Hall on January 29, 2020.  The deadline for submitting 

      The file name must include student first name, last name, grade and school initials (example JoeSmith12BAVTS). Winner will be asked to convert file into an EPS file.  Anything that is submitted may not be returned. 

      A team of advisors will select the final program cover in December.  Designs will be judged on creativity and effective use of the required elements.  

      If you have any questions, contact Katie Walter, at the SkillsUSA Council office at 610-841-1190. 

      The following information is required for the design:

      Pennsylvania Invention Convention

      The Pennsylvania Invention Convention is a student invention competition designed to showcase and celebrate student problem-solving, innovation, creativity, and ingenuity. 

      This competition is open to all students in grades 5 through 12. 

      This competition has 3 levels:

      1. Virtual Online Competition (online submissions) - all participants [Deadline: Dec 31]
      2. Statewide Finalists Competition (takes place at PETE&C in Pittsburgh) – invited finalists
      3. Invention Convention - US Nationals (takes place at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation) – 1st Place finishers

      Beginning of the year online Forms

      The LCTI Guidance Department sent out Welcome Letters to the parents / guardians of our new and returning students.  Within the letter, there is log on information for the parents/guardians to log on to Skyward, complete the Online Forms, and access the student’s schedule. 

      The forms that will be completed online in Skyward include: 

      • Home Language Survey 
      • Acceptable Use of Communications / Handbook Compliance 
      • Safety Pledge 
      • Food Allergy Permission Form 
      • Student Medical Card 

      Parent or guardians that do not have login information to Family Access, may contact LCTI Student Services Department at 610-799-1366 and request "login for Skyward Family Access". By doing so, you hereby give LCTI express consent to place auto dialed calls to your phone numbers and will notify LCTI immediately if your number(s) is changed, transferred or removed. 

      Complete each form electronically on the Skyward Student Management System

      Restroom Use Procedure

      The restrooms are located three door areas down on the left hand side. You may use the restroom as needed. 

      Please do the following when using the restroom:

      1. Make the instructor aware of your departure to the restroom as a courtesy.
      2. Sign out of the classroom
      3. Take the restroom fob
      4. Sign in to the classroom upon your return with the fob

      Only one (1) student may use the restroom at a time unless there is an emergency situation that the instructor is aware of in advance.

      Internet Trouble?

      If you are having web browser difficulty that indicates an error loading the web page due to a proxy error, you may reset your Internet connection by disabling the proxy that was set on your workstation.

      1. In the Cortana search bar, type "Internet Options"
      2. On the Internet Options dialogue box, click on the Connections tab.
      3. In the middle of the Connections tab, locate the option for Proxy Server.
      4. Uncheck the option to "Use a proxy server for your LAN".
      5. Close the Internet Options dialogue box.
      6. Refresh your browser.
      7. Success!

      The fire stairs at the middle and end of the D-wing are for emergency use only.  Please refrain from using the fire stairs for arrival in your lab areas.  Use of the fire stairs will result in a disciplinary referral for "017 - Safety Violation, Non Injury"

      Daily Requirement: Time Card

      A gentle reminder that students in Web Design / Programming are required to complete a Time Card each day.  The Time Card is completed daily.  

      No Time Card means that the student has opted to not participate in receiving 1/4 of their Employability Grade.  The highest possible Employability Grade with no Time Card submission is 75%.  The Employability portion of your grade is 20% of your overall grade point total.
